Page 1 of 6 So whats all this about then? Here you'll find all the info on what I did to create an MP3 jukebox for the car based on an old PC. If you think the idea sounds absurd and you'd be better off just buying a stereo then you're obviously in the wrong place. On the other hand if you are intreagued and interested then read on...
Intro This project was borne out of the haywire idea to build a cool, all singing, all dancing in car entertainment system. Original ideas included satellite navigation, voice control, mobile phone, TV, DVD, climate control, etc. Lest to state that it fell slightly behind these high aims... (ahem) At the time I built this thing I was a student and so I couldn't affort a big budget for stuff I didn't really need. This was a time when MP3 was relatively new and computing power was dear. I used some old PC stuff which I had lying aroung and a few bits ordered where absolutely necessary. These days if I was to do this sort of thing again then perhaps I would do things differently, but sourcing all the stuff myself and learning on the way proved to be educational.
